The Watch Out for Joel book series is geared for beginning readers, aged 6 to 8. Each book has a theme. Long Shot's theme, honesty, is from Proverbs 12:22. Kindness, based on Proverbs 17:17 is the theme for Bag Bug Blues. Each book tells a story about Joel and shoes how these character traits are important. The books conclude with a section summarizing the lesson taught followed by some questions to use with your children to be sure the get the message of the story.

Recommendation

I truly wish stories like this had been available when I raised my son! These books fill a real need for quality books that also teach Christian character traits. They'll make good stocking stuffers for your beginning reader this Christmas season.
